Choosing RELX devices: first-time buyers edition (Hcigar Akso)
RELX devices advice for Trinidad, covering coil life, what to look for and where the trade-offs actually sit.
Anyone who has compared relx devices options in Trinidad quickly learns that specification lists only tell part of the story. Vapour production is more than adequate at 200, and pushing beyond that adds heat rather than anything worth carrying.
Budget matters in Trinidad, but with relx devices the cheapest option is rarely the one that lasts. The instruction booklet is thin, but the diagrams are clear enough that most people set the device up without further help.
What surprised us most was how little the 0.6 Ω mesh coil changes the draw character compared with the 40:60 PG/VG liquid sitting in the chamber. The Lilac Mist finish hides fingerprints far better than the gloss options, which matters more than it sounds on a device handled daily. Worth noting that the Q-Plus takes a small amount of care to keep clean, which we cover in the maintenance section below.
Charging over Micro-USB takes about 46 from empty, and the pass-through means the device can be used while plugged in on the smaller batteries. Two things to check before ordering: the Micro-USB socket on the base and whether the 0.6 Ω mesh coil is the newer generation. For first-time buyers, the learning curve is shorter than the specification list suggests, and daily use is straightforward from the first charge.
The build quality on Robust Pro is a step above most of what sits in the same price bracket, and the finish resists the chipping that usually shows after a few months of pocket carry. Build quality is the quiet differentiator here, with tight seams and a connector that has not loosened after repeated removal. Charging over Micro-USB takes about 46 from empty, and the pass-through means the device can be used while plugged in on the smaller batteries.
In Trinidad, availability of the 0.6 Ω mesh coil is the practical bottleneck, not the device itself. The mesh tip mouthpiece is comfortable over long sessions and resists the condensation that gathers on narrower tips. Two things to check before ordering: the Micro-USB socket on the base and whether the 0.6 Ω mesh coil is the newer generation.

Flavour and performance notes
A representative profile is Strawberry Cream: creamy, sweet, described as smooth strawberry custard with a light dairy note. On a 40:60 PG/VG ratio this reads clearly on the first day and holds its character to roughly the 0.6 Ω mesh mark before the coil begins to mute it.
Practical considerations in Trinidad
Availability in Trinidad is the factor that decides most outcomes here. Confirm the 0.6 Ω mesh and the Micro-USB are both in stock before committing, and check that the Q-Plus matches your existing device if you already own hardware. Duty and TTD rates move, so treat prices as current rather than fixed.
Availability shifts often, so check the current listing before committing to a large order.
